We have particular expertise in the following areas

Aerospace

We understand the demands of aerospace and we also know just how fast aerospace is evolving to meet the need for greener solutions. Our team have credentials based on experience with British Aerospace Corporate Jets and Rolls Royce Commercial Aero Engines - as well as hydrogen fuel cell expertise.

We’re working with pioneering companies to accelerate a decarbonised aviation future - including projects supporting the design and development of a hydrogen-electric powertrain for passenger aircraft.

Automotive

Automotive is where LRW started. We can support a wide range of automotive engineering projects – from environmental testing through diagnostics and calibration.

Our team have worked with some of the best OEMs in the industry – from Smart cars to Aston Martin. LRW engineers are genuinely passionate about all things motoring which is why they’ll be found tinkering with engines in their free time too.

Marine

We understand how to manage the unique environmental challenges faced by marine applications and we’ve worked on a range of projects - from pleasure craft to military.

Remote data access can be critical, and we are expert in real-time diagnostics, prognostics and performance metrics at all vessel lifetime stages. We’ve also partnered with OEMs to develop Machine Learning Battery Management System SoH (state-of-health) algorithms for typical marine user profiles, and we specialise in second use battery systems to prolong the useful service life of assets.

As the industry focuses on reducing emissions, LRW are in a unique position to develop fuel cell technology for the sector - benefitting from our aerospace and automotive experience. You’ll also find us at METS and Hybrid Marine every year, alongside our partner Warwick Control Technologies.

Electric Vehicles

As a decarbonised vehicle future comes ever closer, new skills are needed to develop alternative energy solutions. LRW can support the development of new electric vehicle (EV) technology and add manpower to project teams to accelerate critical projects and time to market.

We also have experience in Energy Storage System (ESS) Design and Battery Management System (BMS) Development to help our customers improve the quality and reliability of electric energy storage and delivery - across both static and transport applications.

Motorsport and F1

LRW’s roots are in Formula 1 and motorsport. We understand the extreme demands of motorsport on a vehicle and how to optimise and test power units for those conditions.

Our experience includes motorsport powertrain, race engine preparation and diagnostics - as well as working with the likes of Cosworth and Ricardo.

Off Highway

Off-highway vehicles (OHVs) are subject to specific challenges because of heavy usage and the tough environments in which they work - which may include military, construction and agriculture applications.

We can support the development and testing of these vehicles to ensure the off-road experience is optimal - and we also support the development of decarbonised OHVs.

Power Generation

We know how to optimise power. Our skills mean that we can support all kinds of power generation engineering projects – including specialist programmes such as diesel generator implementation in developing countries with remote monitoring and data logging functionality.
