Testing, Certification and Validation

LRW engineers are highly experienced in testing and we offer a range of support. This includes calibration for certification, liaising with legislative bodies, full development and sign-off testing - all tailored to your specific project requirements.

LRW understand testing locations and their limitations – whether that’s extreme cold, extreme heat, cold altitude or hot altitude. We offer location consultation through to fully managed environmental testing. We carry out testing in countries including Sweden, USA, Tenerife, Spain, Austria and Switzerland.

LRW is a leading provider of automotive emissions testing, specialising in meeting legal requirements across major global markets including California (CARB), Europe, and China. We understand the importance of testing in various conditions, as emissions can vary based on factors like temperature, altitude and driving patterns. We deliver reliable emissions data to help clients navigate complex regulations while ensuring environmental compliance.

Vehicle fleet testing and management can be a good indicator of in-service robustness. LRW have extensive experience in fleet testing as well as data handling and collection from remote loggers -which can make event-based calibration changes.

When integrating sub-components or systems in a powertrain package, it is critical that the system interactions and quality are thoroughly analysed and tested. LRW can input into this process from a theoretical level prior to integration and manage the testing process through to quality inspection. We can then process the data for a variety of situations and provide comprehensive engineering analysis.

LRW are extremely experienced in developing test plans to efficiently assess system performance. We do this through analysing control strategies, component design and real-world response to inputs. We provide workload analysis and recommendations to negate any issues found.

LRW conduct and provide test instructions and software tools for fault insertion using both manual and automated methods. Where hardware fault insertion is not possible in a timely manner, LRW can also conduct back-to-back testing to align a software insertion method with the equivalent hardware fault level. We look for system response, emissions and component behaviour to be aligned which can then feed into emissions testing for onboard diagnostics (OBD).

LRW use a number of testing methods to carry out individual component testing, or when system integration is needed. These include failure mode analysis, system control and response as well as assessing the effect of control strategies.
