Roles & Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, work on engineering consultancy projects to:
- Define optimal safety requirements and architecture for powertrain systems based on safety goals and analyses requirements
- Develop and implement functional safety concepts, strategies and requirements for powertrain systems - engine management systems, transmission control systems and related components
- Provide technical expertise and support to carry out functional safety reviews and tests with project teams to ensure compliance with relevant standards
- Analyse and interpret safety data, including hazard analysis and risk assessment, and formulate actionable mitigations
- Support functional safety documentation in line with ISO26262 industry standard - including the development of plans, safety cases and analyses reports
- Work with cross-functional client and LRW teams
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical, Automotive Engineering or similar field
- Experienced in functional safety engineering, principles and methodology – ideally in automotive
- Understanding of powertrain systems and components, including ICE, electric motors and transmissions
- Familiarity with applying safety standards - ISO 26262
- Knowledge of Safety Analysis methods including FTA, FMEA and DFA
- Preferably certified in Functional Safety e.g. TÜV, CFSE, ASPICE
- Familiarity with automotive communication and diagnostic protocols

- Analytical and logical mindset, used to problem solving
- Excellent communication skills with ability to present complex technical information
- Proven ability of high-performance delivery to deadline in a fast-paced environment
- English language (spoken and written)
- Valid UK driving licence - willing to travel for meetings, training and as required by customers
