Roles & Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, work on engineering consultancy projects to:
- Design, implement and test software and control algorithms for powertrain systems to include vehicle prototypes and production vehicles
- Use MATLAB/Simulink to design and develop control algorithms and software for engine management systems, transmission control systems, and other powertrain components
- Implement software designs and carry out hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing to validate functionality and performance
- Analyse test data and conduct simulations to optimise control strategies and enhance performance
- Document software designs, test plans, results etc. to adhere to LRW standards and industry best practice
- Work with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and ensure that software designs meet system objectives
- Keep up to date with the latest software development methodologies, including MATLAB/Simulink capabilities, to add value to LRW development processes and client projects
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical, Automotive Engineering or similar field. Masters degree preferred
- Experienced in software design and development, particularly automotive powertrain systems and components.
- Used to working in MATLAB/Simulink
- Understanding of control theory and experienced in designing and tuning control algorithms.
- Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, etc.).
- Experience with software development processes including issue tracking, code review and version control
- Understanding of automotive safety standards such as ISO 26262
